Can I use my Consumer Cellular phone for mobile hotspot tethering?

On your blog of October, 2017,  you state  once activated, my phone can be used as a hotspot.  (https://www.consumercellular.com/blog/stay-connected-go-using-mobile-hotspot/)

Your terms and conditions state "... plans (unless specifically designated for tethering usage) cannot be used for any applications that tether the device (through use of, including without limitation, connection kits, other phone/smartphone to computer accessories, BLUETOOTH® or any other wireless technology) to Personal Computers (including without limitation, laptops), or other equipment for any purpose."

Which is it?

Consumer Cellular continues to offer mobile hotspot tethering, as confirmed up until the time of writing. To activate tethering, customers can simply contact Consumer Cellular at (888) 996-2771 and request the service. What sets Consumer Cellular apart from other carriers is that they do not impose any additional charges for tethering, nor do they slow down the data rate or impose limits on tethering data usage beyond what is included in the customer's plan. In fact, Consumer Cellular treats all data usage equally, without making a distinction between tethering/hotspot data usage and regular cellular data usage. In their view, data is simply data.

Hi Chele. On that blog post link you included, it looks like a Consumer Cellular staff is replying. According to her replies, mobile hotspot should work fine on your phone. But it is only recommended when a Wi-Fi network is unavailable to save your data.
