The HTC Touch2 was the first phone to hit our desk that runs the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5. And then it hit the wall, the floor and wherever else we could throw it, because Windows Mobile is still frustrating to use. But HTC has done a good job of cove...

A great little handset, packed with connectivity

from MobileBurn

The HTC Touch2 is a great little handset, packed with connectivity whilst still being very pocketable. There's also a respectable number of multimedia features on-board to keep most users happy, with everything from a camera to GPS being crammed into the Touch2's classy exterior. It's also running the latest version of Windows Mobile and TouchFLO, so you can be sure it's fully up-to-date with the latest software.

Unfortunately, it's not all positive, and the screen is rather small for web browsing and text entry, which loses the Touch2 some points. The camera and video camera are also very poor, due to the fixed focus and lack of a flash, which is a shame. However, there's little else to complain about with the HTC Touch2, making it an all-round good egg.

In conclusion, I can happily give the HTC Touch2 a "Highly Recommended" rating, thanks to its many assets and few flaws. It's certainly not the most exciting handset out there, but it's reasonably small and packed with everything but the kitchen sink. If you're looking for a Windows Mobile handset then the Touch2 should definitely be on your list of considerations, and would certainly make a good choice....

The HTC Touch2 was the first phone to hit our desk that runs the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5. And then it hit the wall, the floor and wherever else we could throw it, because Windows Mobile is still frustrating to use. But HTC has done a good job of covering it up with the TouchFlo interface, and the Touch2 is packed full of features, including free access to Microsoft's new My Phone online syncing service.
The Touch2 is easier to use than previous Windows Mobile handsets, thanks to the combination of Windows Mobile 6.5's finger-friendlier interface and HTC's TouchFlo. This pint-sized phone is easy to pop in a pocket, but it offers a relatively small touchscreen, and, without a landscape version of the on-screen keyboard, you'll still have to wield the stylus, unless you have sharp fingernails. New services, like My Phone, should help the Touch2 bridge the gap with its competitors, but, until Windows Marketplace for Mobile is up and running, it trails far behind in terms of usability.
