If phones were cars, LG would be a Mercedes, or a Lexus, or perhaps an Acura. Sleek, powerful, with head-turning looks and the processing speed to back it up.
Thank you for putting up with that analogy. As a former LG Shine owner, I have many fond memories.
The LG Shine from Verizon is a great looking flip, with a brushed metal casing that feels great in your hand. A vertical display runs along the exterior, which, in addition to some clever visual displays, provides all the info we’ve come to expect from an external screen, including date, time, battery strength and life. A touch of the matching silver rocker volume keys on the right will activate the external display.
The inside display treats you to one of two beautiful pre-programmed moving displays, one that shows ball bearings bouncing in slow motion, the other a car being created before your very eyes, in silver of course.
The call quality of the Shine is excellent. Unlike some flips where you have to position your ear, the microphone and transmitter are powerful enough to accommodate your style.
The UI can be changed, creating entirely different looks. I enjoyed the one where menus simply scrolled past in a vertical tumble. Whatever you choose, the menus are shades of gray and silver, adding a beautiful overall contrast to this wonderful phone.
The Shine comes with an excellent 2MP camera and can take as much video as your microSD card can hold. Tip: Go into settings and tell your phone to save everything to your memory card!
Although I do not recommend dropping your phone, I dropped my LG Shine many times, and it never stopped working.
If you want to make a statement and great phone calls, take a look at the Shine.
