Good, but very unreliable phone. I used it for less than a year before the external display cracked for no apparent reason (I did not drop or scratched the phone). Rogers refused to fix it, because crack weren't covered by the warranty.A couple of weeks later, an internal display started to fail (didn't lit up when I opened the phone). Thus, I couldn't see who was calling or the number(s) I was dialing. Then I smashed the phone against the wall as hard as I could. Also, I experienced some network issues. The phone had trouble picking up the the signal when I would get out of the subway. It would take 2-3 minutes before the phone would get back on the network. Sometimes even turning the phone off and back on was necessary to regain a reception. Less

Pro: Handles easily Con: Terrible phone Received the Motorola V180 when signing up on a contract basis with T-Mobile. One night while I was on my way from work, I tried calling my daughter and the phone went DEAD. It was completely UNUSEABLE. Thank God I wasn't in an emergency situation where I had to depend on this phone!!. After three weeks of owning the V180, I realized why the phone was FREE. Went back to the store and they gave me another one which has been in the unopened box for over a year. I'm now in the process of trying out this one to see what's going to happen with it. Less

Pro: It has been simple to use. Con: Terrible coverage. Many dropped calls. Using experience: 3 years I only have one place in my home where I can use my cell (hell) phone. If I am not sitting by that window, you can forget it. Even so, I'll be talking away only to discover the call ended some time ago. Sometimes the voice mail does not show up until hours later. Why's that? Also, it is difficult to multi-task with a flip phone - you almost HAVE to hold it instead of using your shoulder. Less

Pro: Light, easy to use, color screen, tough case Con: None for us My wife and I bought two of these phones when we got to Italy last year. So far they've been great. I've dropped mine down two flights of stone stairs and it still works, the hinge only got tweaked a bit. No problems with the screens or batteries either. We did have a minor problem with one we had back in the States that wouldn't shut off when it was folded up, turned out to be the little sensor button wasn't seated right. A little manipulation with a needle fixed it right up. Overall these phones have been great for us. Less

A great inexpensive phone

from Yahoo
Pro: durable, inexpensive Con: no longer made I have (2) V180 phones. Both of them have survived 2 accidental rides in the washing machine, and they both still work as good as new. It is a great, inexpensive phone that is very durable and dependable.

My girlfriend and I purchased this phone more than a year ago when we renewed our contracts, and I have to say it's been the best cell phone I 've owned yet. But it's also the ugliest cell phone I've owned. It has all the features we need caller ID, speed dial, mp3 ring tones, flip design, etc. But what has suprised us most is how tough it is. I have dropped it numerous times, some times on to concrete or asphault, and it still works great. I carry it in my jeans pocket daily and its never gotten more than a scratch. The real kicker is when my girlfriend dropped it out of the car one day and the phone was run over by another car, after we went back and picked it up, the only thing that didnt work was the caller ID. So to all you that say it broke easily, you must have been trying to break it. This is the most sturdy phone I have ever owned. Great Job Motorola. Less

The only redeeming quality is the long battery life and that is it. I get staic when making calls, dropped calls, people sometimes can't hear me on the other end. I use this phone for work and it has hurt my ability to call in and get decisions without using text service. I don't recommend getting this phone for anyone much less yourself. Motorola needs to test their products much better if they expect to keep people buying their products. Less

Terrible phone

from Amazon
Phone is way over priced and not worth it. Very poor voice quality, speaker phone is terrible, and get dropped calls all the time. I've heard the horror stories on Motorola phones and this one proves the stories correct. Don't waste your time on Motorola phones, espcially this one!!

Pro: Cheep Con: Will not make it for the duration of the contract On Dec 1 2005 I purchased 4 phones from Simply Wireless (two Razr's and two V180's all Motorola phones with Cingular accounts). One of the V180's had malfunctioned in August 2006. I e-mailed Simply Wireless on 10/5/06 and received an e-mail back on 10/7 stating that my cell phone was still under warranty and that I should contact Motorola directly. I called Motorola and talked with a rep (I do not remember her name) who recommended that I ship the phone to the Motorola Repair Center with a proof of purchase receipt. Motorola received the phone on 10/25/06 (still well within the warranty) and returned it to me on 10/30/06 as “Out Of Warranty” (No IMEI or MSN number). I called Motorola’s service center on 10/30/06 and talked with John (#351791), who stated that Motorola was in error and will send me a UPS shipping slip to send the phone back to the Motorola’s Service Center. After 5 days and still no sign of a UPS packing slip, I called Motorola again and talked with Jessica (#351777) in the service center (date 11/4). She told me that my phone was no longer under warranty and that the phone only had a 15 month warranty from date of production and not from date of sale. This contradicted the E-mail from Simply Wireless and my communication with John, the Motorola rep, on 10/30. I then asked to talk with the supervisor at the repair center. I was able to discuss my issue with a Mr. Facundo (who was less than courteous), who informed me that I needed to have a purchase receipt, from Simply Wireless, that contained the phones IMEI number and not just the phone number and model. I told him that I still have the original box with the IMEI and MSN number, but he stated that this would not be enough and that I needed a receipt with both date of purchase and the IMEI number. Furthermore, he told me that I needed to get the phone back to the service center before my warranty expired (even though my phone was already inside their facility for the same complaint). I called Simply Wireless who had e-mailed my documentation to me to prove that the phone I have is still under warranty. When I called on 11/6 the rep told me that the commuter was down and that I needed to call back later. This company stinks and if I ever get the phone repaired I will never get another Motorola phone for myself or my employees again. Less
