I bought my v710 phone 3 years ago and have to say that i was surprised by the vast number of unhappy reviews! This phone has been through every imaginable test of endurance from going skiing in -30 C to being dropped about a thousand times. The only thing i have to say is the fact that it is sometimes a pain to charge, as i have to jiggle the charger. Besides that however, i've never had any grief over it. I haven't even changed the battery! I just hope my next phone (Samsung Instinct) lives up to this amazingly durable and dependable phone! Less

Unable to Charge

Might not be a bad phone if they could solve the battery charging problem. Unable to charge or won't charge makes this phone very undependable. It has let me down at the most unconvient times. I give this phone a 1 because it is not dependable. My next phone will not be a motorola.

Terrible phone

Awful all around, poor build quality. Had phone for two years with nothing but problems.

Disappointing for a Motorola Product

I have sworn by Motorla products the last 8 years or so. This phone however may have ending my loyality; it has been replaced twice in the last six months. First instance was because I left it in the car overnight (apparently a very bad thing to do) where it sustained moisture damage. Second time it...More

First instance was because I left it in the car overnight (apparently a very bad thing to do) where it sustained moisture damage. Second time it simply just died for reasons unexplained by the tec who looked at it. Next phone will be an LG Less

Disappointing for a Motorola Product

Up to this point I have sworn by Motorola cell phones. I have had to replace this particular model twice in the last six months. The phone apparently is highly sensitive to moist; after leaving it in the car overnight during a humid night here in NJ it was kaput!

Terrible Phone

So this is the second phone that I've had and to be blunt, it's a complete piece of garbage. I've had it for less than a year and I've already had to have it replaced 3 times! So this is the second phone that I've had and to be blunt, it's a complete piece of garbage. I've had it for less than a year and I've already had to have it replaced 3 times! The first thing that i noticed about this phone was how huge it was. I can't even fit it into my pocket and because of that I end up carrying it all over the place which has led to it being covered in scratches. Also every single replacement that i've had has started to freeze and has become insanely slow. The battery life is terrible and i think that one of the reasons for this is the sheer size of the inner screen. It is unnecessarily huge and it really doesn't add anything to the phone. On my last replacement, the silver ring around the camera fell off. Because of that, the camera lense got scratched and was rendered useless. One of the most annoying things about this phone is when it says to you "please say a command" every single time that you open it up. Anothing thing is the phone seems to have a mind of it's own. It often randomly changes from silent to loud without you even realizing it. That can be quite embarrassing and annoying when it starts blasting a ringtone in the movie theatre when you think that you've turned off the sound. The only positive thing i have to say about this phone is that it has good reception and is reasonably clear when you're talking to someone. I do not recommend this phone and you will regret it if you purchase it. Less

I have never had a problem charging it. The pictures are good for a camera phone..If you want better pictures get a digital camera. The MP3 player is great. I've dropped it about 5 times and not a scratch on it. I love the big screen and I get great reception even in the middle of the woods. GREAT PHONE! Less

great phone!

i don't use a lot of extras, and yes, the voice command thing is a bit persistent, but this thing is built like a tank! i have dropped it hard a zillion times in the 2-3 years i have had it, and it has never skipped a beat...

I have been using the v710 for 2 years. I play games and listen to the mp3 player almost every day and I must say this phone has performed perfectly. I recently purchased an lg vx8600 in the hopes of adding stereo bluetooth to all the features I love about the v710 but was very dissapointed in the lg. The v710 beats the lg in speaker and music quality and volume, ease of use (no single camera button and volume control is on the top half of the flip phone on the lg), the touch sensitive outer mp3 buttons are too easy to accidentally hit), the lg music manager (vcast) only allows for single songs to be added to playlists (very time consuming), no 2.5mm headphone jack. Although the lg is beatiful, it is prone to fingerprints and is much less comfortable to hold while making calls (especially not good considering the low volume using the lg speakerphone. All in all, I will wait to get a version of the v710 with navigation and stereo bluetooth. Until then, I will stick with the v710 an almost perect phone for gamers and music lovers. Less
