The Terrain is a tough device that can survive spills and thrills, but the keyboard and other controls aren't particularly well executed. Worse, the screen is too small and too hard to read, despite my 20/20 vision. But phone calls sound good, it runs well on AT&T's network, and battery life is quite good. The PTT functionality is a bit fussy to set up, but the quality of PTT calls was excellent.

I've used a lot of the various OS's and I have avoided Android - just didn't think I was geeky enough. But after looking for any kind of decent phone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard and a decent processor, I was left with either this or the BB Q10. This was a lot cheaper and it turns out, one great bargain! I'll use the negative comments made by others to point out it's pluses. (1) - It's bulky and heavy. Yeah, just as bulky and heavy as those high end phones with their Otterbox protectors. Only it requires none of that protection. (2) - The icons are so tiny. Guess what? It's Android. You go to the Play store and get Gianticons widget maker. Now you can resize every needed app icon on your home screens. The phone is fast, calls are great. The phone is a steal! Negatives - You're stuck with ICS. NEC won't be upgrading the OS. Tough to buy any necessary accessories. What are you gonna buy? A screen protector? A protective case. Sure, I bought some. But their just wasted purchases. This phone gives you everything out of the box. NEC needs to rethink smartphone manufacturing. I love this phone! Less
