I've been using NOKIA 3100 since June 2004 on Rogers network in Canada, and had no problems with the phone whatsoever. After 3.5 years battery still lasts 5-6 days in standby with low call usage. I use it for calls and calendar reminders, very rarely text messaging, no web browsing. Great for these basic purposes. Pros: Small, compact, reliable phone. Nokia reputation and quality. Cons: Minor GUI con: Automatic uppercase/lowercase change when typing reminders/messages can be sometimes annoying. Less

I bought the Nokia 3100 in 2004 and used it for over three years until date Sep 07... and will continue using it until I upgrade next year. A 3 yr old I was looking after dumped it in a foot of water - totally soaked - while on!! I immediately took the battery out... dismantled it (cover off, faceplate etc.) as much as I could and dried it out in indirect sun and breeze that day & then for 3 days with a dryer off and on about 8 inches from on low for three days. Re-assembled it, charged the battery, turned it on - zoom - made a call. I haven't had any related problems with it since!! Everyone at work was amazed and relieved - we had a trade show that week. The battery power is adequate and my original battery is still working from three years ago. I can access data and emails from the browser prompt, although the phone hasn't any camera or music functions. The keypad sluggish though - I have to press with my nail through the clear vinyl on case. All in all it has good reception and few dropped calls... a great little machine. Less

This is by far my FAVORITE cell phone yet. I like the speaker phone- I use it in the truck at times(has to be very quite). The battery life is GREAT for this small of a phone. The menu is very user friendly and easy to get used to. Like one of the other reviewers wote, the colors on screen are a bit limited. I have dropped this phone many times and beside a few minor scrathes, there's been no damage. I pick up alot of the newer Nokia's and it seems that the outside plastic case would shatter the !st time it hit the ground. I'm currently in market to upgrade and its been very hard to find another BAR phone that I like. I'm thinking of "trying" the Motorola L7 Slvr, it has pretty good reviews. However I know that the Motorolas seem to have had their share of problems. Less

I got this phone with my plan back in April 2004 when Cingular bought AT&T, but AT&T was still using its services. I later switched to T-mobile the following year with the Motorola V180 because the plans are better. I have small hands, and I don't like big, bulky phones so this was perfect. It is so small and light that it fits right into your pocket. There's really not too much negative about it. I had no problems except for the occasional dropped calls. That was due to the place that I lived at. A part of the cover also glows. The young teens and kids will like it. I love the small keypad. I recommend this for kids or for people who want a basic, tiny, candy bar phone. I do not recommend this if you can't stand small keypads because the numbers are close together. Less
