The "1-Minute" Review

While the Nokia N97 Mini is a “modified” version of the regular N97, little has been sacrificed. There is an elimination of the “D-pad” on the full QWERTY keyboard and the absence of a sliding camera cover, but that is largely the extent of the dress-down. This phone remains a powerful, full-featured GSM touchscreen with much to offer.

One of the first things you notice is the 3.2 inch, 360 x 640 high resolution display. It’s crisp, large and very easy on the eyes. Add a 5MP camera, complete with a variety of useful camera features and video record, a music player, FM Radio, expandable memory via microSD, 3.5mm jack and the aforementioned full QWERTY keyboard offering a tactile alternative to the virtual keyboard, and you end up with a fun, powerful device.

Built on a powerful 434 MHz processor, this Symbian-based smartphone can power some of the most demanding apps with ease.

Rated at over 7 hours of talk time and up to 310 hours of standby time (depending on personal usage patterns), the N97 Mini will be ready to go when you need it.

In an ever more crowded “touchscreen phone” category, the Nokia N97 Mini is a powerful and attractive option.

Performs better than the N97

from PhoneArena

In terms of operational speed and system stability, the Nokia N97 mini performs better than the N97. The phone doesn’t freeze or restart for no reason, but lags and responds to commands just as sluggishly.

The smaller N97, however, is a much better at phone calls and the in-call quality it offers is superior to what is elder sibling delivers. Sound is loud and clear, even if voices tend to get slightly monotonous and sharp at times. The N97 mini is simply put, head and shoulders over the N97 with this respect....
