The "1-Minute" Review

The Samsung Mayon offers an old school, easy-to-use flip that features dual displays, VGA cameral, video record, speakerphone, Bluetooth and an HTML browser.

There is still a strong market for basic cell phones. Samsung’s Mayon does a good job offering strong basic services. With an external 1 inch display with a 96 x 96 pixel resolution and an internal 1.38 inch color display, the Mayon provides good call quality and a list of entry-level features.

In addition to two modest displays, the Mayon has a simple 4X digital zoom camera offering a 640 x 480 resolution, instant messaging, Bluetooth, up to 300 phone book entries and other basic, useful features.

Overall, the Mayon succeeds in its class by offering dual displays, as others in its price point generally offer a single display.

For folks looking for a simple, dependable phone with a few meaningful extras, the Samsung Mayon offers both.
