Good Phone

First phone i ever owned never had any problems bought it when it first came out must have been 97, 98 or something had it for 4 years never had a problem but lost it and wish i never did - for the time it was a great phone.

An excellent phone

I bought this phone in 2000, and 6 years later, it's still in excellent condition. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles of today, and it looks out-of-date according to today's standards. But, the reception is excellent and the battery is still going strong (fortunately, that's all I care about).

Had this phone for over 5 years and it has been working away without any serious problems. The phone is a very basic one and has fairly good receiption. Used the phone in roming mode in the states without any problems. However, call recieption is a little bit sketchy when it is roaming. I am contemplating replacing this phone after I broke the antanna couple month ago. Even then it's still plugging away. Battary life becomes noticebly shorter after 2 years even with some repeated conditioning. This could be partially caused by a defective charger plug I had. Replaced the plug and still on the original battary pack. Battary currently last about 3 days on standby (no calls) but drains very fast with calls. Sound quality of the phone is ok most of the time, sometimes has some echo which could be caused by the other side. Not much ring tone selection but does have a vibrate mode for calls or text/voice messages which I find important. Overall a simple, decent, no frills phone with all the important basic functions. Reliable in major centres

I have found this phone reliable in all the major centres, but reception is not as good in rural areas. If you live in city, this is a great phone.

built to last

I bought this phone in 2000, and have been using it consistently since then. It's 2005 and, amazingly, still works like the day I bought it. The thing is incredibly solid!

excellent

I had this phone for years before it died and it withstood being dropped, crushed and everything. I have never had a phone last this long. It was exceptional.

I like it, but....

I happen to really like the design of this phone. It feels really solid and looks expensive. I like the solid feel of the buttons too. However it's only dual mode, and I live outside the optimal digital range. When running in Analog it's almost useless. Calls in good digital areas are fantastic though. It doesn't have any basic features such as wallpaper or colour choices either because it's an older design. Less

Basic phone, some flaws

Good basic design, sends and receives calls well. Problems: screen is too small and narrow, ringer is too quiet, buttons (especially the rocker button) are too stiff. Battery is compatible with SCP4500. :)
