Sleek, lightweight package, packs a punch

from DIYPhotography
This is my first mobile battery backup/charger and I honestly feel like I’ve won the lottery. I have no idea why it took me so long to plug in. The peace of mind that comes with knowing I don’t have to ration battery power or scale back on device usage while traveling or shooting on location is huge. While we don’t really have a formal rating system here at DIY Photography, this little pack of power would get my highest marks if we did... Full review

Super generous when it comes to its delivery

from PhoneArena
All told, there’s no denying the fact that this one is super generous when it comes to its delivery. Heck, its $49.99 cost through Amazon right now is something that’s hard to pass up on – more so when it normally sells for $49.99. There’s a lot of value in this one indeed, even more when you’re the kind of person that has an arsenal of stuff to juice up on the go!.. Full review

This one finally has the right dimensions with rounded edges

from TechnologyTell
Anker proves itself as a leader among others with the refined design and greater efficiency of the Astro3. The price? Really hard to beat. You can pick up an Anker Astro3 from Amazon.com for $49. One could go with some unknown off-brand to save a few bucks, but why not stick with a brand that has been selling quality products for years?.. Full review
iPhone Life

Powerful recharging and multi-service capabilities

from iPhone Life
Because of its powerful recharging and multi-service capabilities, the Astro3 has become my new external battery of choice, displacing Just Mobile's Gum Max as my top product recommendation. While the Astro3 isn't perfect, it's price, performance, and feature set provide a unique combination that is hard to beat. I'll be looking forward to the third generation of this product to see if some of the issues are addressed. But even with those criticisms, if you're a multi-device iOS user with frequent recharge power needs, the Astro3 is the battery for you... Full review

Some nice little extras and a unique user interface

from TUAW

What can I say? The Astro 3 works fine with any iPhone, and I was also able to get it to power my third-generation iPad with no problems. I like the fact that the white LEDs pulse gently while the Astro 3 is charging your device, giving you a reminder that power is flowing into your iPad or iPhone. If it's an iPhone you want to keep topped off with power, Anker says you'll be able to recharge it "6 or 7 times".

At a price point through Amazon that is similar to other 12,000 mAh batteries on the market, the Anker Astro 3 provides some nice little extras and a unique user interface. I... Full review

Gizmag

Pocket-friendly backup battery pack with enough juice to charge up most modern phones six or seven times before needing a refill

from Gizmag
Though the universal ports feature custom circuitry designed to charge Android phones at full speed, an iPhone will only charge at 0.5 A, so you'll need to make sure the smart port is available if you want your prized Apple smartphone to receive a fast top up. When the Astro3 has finished topping up your smartphone or tablet, it will automatically turn itself off... Full review
