Fone Arena

Amazing Bass, good build quality

from Fone Arena
Sound Blaster Roar 2 keeps the best from the past along with some clinical improvement. The Blaster Roar 2 speaker does so much work for its size and ticks all the boxes for a right reason. And don’t forget, it has plenty of bass inside. If you are a bass fan and looking out for a Bluetooth speaker with solid cash of Rs. 20,000 in your hand, then this is your best bet... Full review

Size isn't everything

from TechRadar

The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a marked improvement on its predecessor. It's lighter and 20% smaller, but no less powerful. It has a pretty stellar sound, and while it couldn't fill an auditorium like some 7.1 systems can, the Roar 2 puts out a respectable amount of noise. It's also one of the best-looking speakers around. Both the jet black model and all-white one have a refined simplicity to them that totally trumps other speakers' childish, sometimes gaudy exteriors.

Overall, it's a fine buy for someone looking to add another speaker to the living room, or a Bluetooth-enabled mus... Full review

Perfect gift for the holiday season

from GottaBeMobile
It might not be rugged or waterproof, and not very “portable” but it’s certainly one of the best Bluetooth speakers I’ve used to date. One I can recommend without hesitation. This is a perfect gift for the holiday season. Creative also sells a carry case for those interested. I’d recommend sitting it on a desk or in the living room, and enjoying the loud sound for years to come... Full review

Big audio, basic design

from Pocket-lint

Although to Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 couldn't be called a reference speaker, for its small size it really kicks out quality audio. There's plenty of bass considering the size, which otherwise typically lacks from such portable Bluetooth speakers.

The main drawbacks are the somewhat patchy design, which is bested by bundles of other Bluetooth makers, and a variety of extra features that, ultimately, are of little to no use on a device like this (voice recording, for example). The higher price point of this second-gen device also has little new to offer - we think Creative wou... Full review

Digital Trends

Still loud, despite smaller frame

from Digital Trends

The best way to look at the Roar 2 is to simply consider it the same as the original Roar, albeit looking better after dieting for a few months. (Maybe it should have been called Roar 1.5?) Some cosmetic changes give it a slight makeover, but it’s what’s inside that counts, and this speaker packs the same guts. We’re not complaining about that, since we found its predecessor so interesting, but we can’t help but feel Creative could’ve made things really interesting by nipping and tucking on the components inside as well, to possibly impact fidelity.

iLounge

Chock full of features, well-rounded sound performance

from iLounge

Sound Blaster 2 Roar is capable as a portable speaker, though it doesn’t strike us as the “take anywhere” type — there’s no waterproofing and a number of switches, buttons, and open ports. It’s fine to take with you in certain situations, but it would also be just as useful and proper around the house, preferably in a small or medium-sized room.

There’s a lot to love about Creative’s Sound Blaster Roar 2. It’s not the flashiest Bluetooth speaker out there, but it’s hard to beat when it comes to features (even if many users... Full review

A great little speaker for the money

from TechHive
The Roar 2 is a very good, well-balanced speaker whether you’re using it for near-field listening or looking to fill a moderately large room with background music. Bluetooth range was also impressive. With my phone in my home office on its charger, I was able to take the speaker to every room except my difficult-to-penetrate home theater and the master bathroom (which is on the far side of the home theater)... PC Magazine

Plenty of unique features you don't typically see on Bluetooth speakers

from PC Magazine

Like the original, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 is an intriguing multi-tool of a portable speaker. It can do a lot of different things and its performance is satisfying, especially for a price tag closer to $150 than $200. If you want the best sound quality, though, the Editors' Choice Bose SoundLink Mini II and Ultimate Ears UE Boom 2 are superior options, even if they don't have nearly as many features. The SoundLink Mini II offers crisper high-end and better balance, and the waterproof, rugged Boom 2 offers more power and a fuller sense of bass. Still, you won't be disappointed by the Roar 2... Examiner

Crisper and more balanced sound

from Examiner

The new design is now 20% smaller than the Classic Sound Blaster Roar but the good news is that the battery hasn’t been diminished. Yes it is still long lasting. The question then might be what did Creative sacrifice in order to make a smaller speaker? Well for starters the woofer now is all up firing instead of up and front firing. Not really a loss because that now allows for better sound quality. They now have a thin aluminum protective plate on top of each radiator. That change is exciting for those who love to have thumping bass, but no worries it doesn’t sound distort... Full review

The Game Scouts

A fantastic bluetooth speaker system

from The Game Scouts
The Sound Blaster Roar 2 is a fantastic Bluetooth speaker system, and Creative Labs is inching closer to perfection. The Roar 2 is beautifully designed, rich in features and boasts stunning audio performance whether you’re listening to music or playing games. It doesn’t have the best battery life, and the audio can come off as a little too muffled without the Roar feature enabled, but at only $170, you aren’t likely to find a better alternative at this price point...
