The Archos Arnova 7 is one of the newest tablets to hit the market. This is a unique product because of its extremely low price. The Arnova 7 can be bought for $99, making it a fraction of the price of most tablets available. Although it may not have the high end features of the iPad or Motorola Xoom, the low price certainly makes up for that.
The Arnova 7 has a seven inch display, with a 800 x 480 screen resolution. This tablet weighs around 12 ounces, making it one of the lighter tablets on the market. There is 4 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, a built in speaker and a microphone. It comes with all the features that you would want in a tablet, such as Internet browsing, Email, a music player and and eBook Reader. The Arnova 7 also has a video player, so you can watch your favorite movies or TV shows on the go. The video player is capable of 720p HD video playback.
There are many features that are missing from the Arnova 7. There is no bluetooth, GPS or a camera. This might be a problem for a tablet that sells for $500 but not in one priced under $100. The operating system on the Arnova 7 does not support the Android Market for applications, which is a major downside. However there are hopes that a software upgrade will come in the future, allowing integration with more Android applications.
All in all, while this tablet may be missing some features there is no beating the price tag. If you are looking for an inexpensive tablet for basic internet use and causal video playback, then the Arnova 7 is definitely an option to consider.
