Informr score
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) currently has an Informr score of 7.8 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 34 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

At first glance, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) Wi-Fi seems like it doesn’t belong in the Android-powered stable of Galaxy-branded tablets from Samsung. After all, the current flagship model competes with the best of the best in the 10-inch tablet arena and comes equipped with some of the best bits of hardware for complex mobile computing and graphics rendering tasks. So where exactly does the Tab 2 (7.0) with Wi-Fi fit in? And how does it fare when compared with devices that have similar form factors from other manufacturers?

The tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as standard with the use of a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1GHz and 1GB of on-device RAM. It features a handy 7-inch 1024x600 resolution screen and has a built-in 4000 mAh battery that lasts around 5-6 hours per charge. This is what powers its many hardware features which include built-in sensors for motion and ambient light, Bluetooth wireless and Wi-Fi, as well as microHDMI and microUSB connectivity. There’s also a built-in microSD card slot onboard that will allow users to expand the amount of user-available storage space.

There are two cameras on the device. The main one at the back has a 5-megapixel sensor but lacks a built-in flash. And the one in front can capture VGA-resolution images and record videos as well. All of these hardware features are squeezed into a casing that measures only 10mm thick and weighs in at a total of 345 grams. There are plenty of ways to enjoy using this Samsung tablet and all of the many different features that it has to offer. But it isn’t the first 7-inch tablet to deliver what it does to the market. And it certainly won’t be the last.

Need to Know: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) Wi-Fi

2. Default Android software makes it far more feature-rich than most other tablets that run older versions of the same. (The Good)

4. The 7-inch screen’s low resolution may make it difficult to browse certain Web sites and run certain applications. (The Bad)

There's no denying that this is a well-made tablet with a great screen. If this was a few months ago we may even have said the Tab 2 7.0 was the best 7in tablet you could buy. Unfortunately for Samsung, the Google Nexus 7 has a higher-resolution screen, a faster processor and a lower price, as well...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a decent tablet. It boasts a sturdy, visually pleasing design and decent battery life. The big problem, however, is that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 isn't as good as Google's Nexus 7, which retails for the same price yet features a more powerful processor and a more up-to-da...

A good effort by Samsung in releasing a device targeted at the budget crowd, as it comes with the full features that you would usually find in higher-end devices - definitely one to consider if you are considering tablets in the 7-inch range. However, it is difficult to recommend this over Google’s...
