Just got the new Motorola Quantico W845 today. Spent sometime looking thru all the features. That took about 3 minutes. This phone lacks features and is beyond simplistic. I would say it's a good starter phone with a big price. Anybody, even a first time user could use this phone. Why? Because it has nothing, so there truly is no real learning curve. Concerns include ringer is not very loud and may be hard to hear in a vehicle. The trap door where you hook up the charger I will assume won't last since you have to keep bending it over when using it. The keypad is very easy to use but the screen is not as nice and clear as my old Rokr. Lack of factory ringtones and near total lack of screen saver pictures is disappointing. Have not even made a call or sent a text and I am already missing my old Rokr! Hope day one isn't the start of a 2 year case of regret picking the wrong cell phone... Less

I felt the need to add a second personal review on the Motorola Quantico W845. Since I have now had the phone for a few days this might be more helpful of a review. I still think this unit has very limited features, it's way too symplistic for the cost and, this might be a good thing, is pretty dumby proof for first time users. It's easy because of it's simplicity. I have in fact found the ringer to be very much loud enough as well the vibrate mode out does my old Rokr by far. If you have it in your pants pocket I would suggest having it set on vibrate/ring mode then you are sure to not miss the call. I have sent a lot of text messages. While the keys push easy, they maybe too easy and a bit too sensitive, I don't find the cell too comfortable while using one handed and texting. Likely because it's wider then my old Rock and thicker. You need to have a firmer grip to text properly. Visually this phone looks good in my opinion. I like the color and the matt finish.Just a personal thing I guess. One thing a friend said to me was the phone sounded a bit tin like. It was in hand held mode not on a blue tooth. Hope that's not the case with all calls. Over all I would up my grade my rating on this phone from 5 to maybe 6 on the Motorola Quantico but that's it. Mainly because of it's amazing lack of features. Too simplistic for the money. Is it worth getting? I think so. It's not any worse or better then anything else on the market. Just don't get it and hope to have a new play toy because that is not what this phone is. It's simply a cell phone to make calls with and do some texting...

A couple weeks into it.

I'm an outdoors kind of person. So the mil-spec shock and water resistances appeals to me. I like this phone so far. I can play music over my bluetooth a long with all the other standard features like a video camera, texting, pictures, web, ect... The only issue is that in order to sync my outlook contacts with this phone I need to BUY the Motorola Phone Tools program w/ cables. Are you kidding me. I paid $90.00 for a NON-smart phone and then you want me to buy a program and cable for $30.00, that is standard with any other competitors phone. Everything else transfered easily over a micro usb cable I had laying around because it sure as hell didn't come with the phone. Less
